Polar Heart Rate Monitor – Ft80
Dedicated to helping you achieve your workout goals by monitoring your heart rate for the perfect training level and optimal results is the Polar FT80. This Polar watch can help you map out your whole cardio fitness training routine with the intelligent training computer that helps you get maximum exercise efficiency.
This Polar FT80 Polar watch has a personalized training program that gives you feedback and weekly training targets and it also has several other innovative features for the exercise enthusiasts.
Polar Watch FT80 Pros:
Besides being an intelligent computer that assists you in reaching goals through a personalized workout program, it also sounds an alarm if you fall out of the target heart rate range.
The ZonePointer, OwnCal and strength training help optimize strength and cario training by the monitoring of your heart rate and telling you when to move on to your next set training. The OwnCal feature shows your calorie expenditure due a single exercise session. With this feature, it makes it so much easier to set your daily and weekly exercise goals based on how many calories you burn. This helps you with weight loss goals.
The built-in fitness test measures your aerobic fitness at rest, and other features like ZoneLock and OwnZone can customize your target zone while training. It is water resistant up to 50 meters and also has a FlowLink feature that lets you transfer data from the heart rate monitor to a computer. It can store up to 100 exercise files that record your average and maximum heart rate, along with calories burnt, distance, and the total time exercised.
Polar Watch FT80 Cons:
One of the downsides is that this Polar watch can be quite expensive. It is also a bit heavy at around 12.8 ounces.
This Polar model does not have vertical slope and speed monitoring, which is an additional consideration for those that are most active in sports like mountain biking, skiing and hiking. There are heart rate monitor watches that offer more features for those athletes at lesser cost.
There are complaints that the backlit screen is hard to see and its screen is not as vivid as other models. Apart from this, some users have found it difficult hooking up to a computer or syncing it on the web.
To Conclude:
The FT80 is perfect for strength and weight trainers. It however does not have some of the other features other athletes would desire and can get on comparable models. Polar being the leader in wireless heart rate monitors have countered this by introducing many other models that might be more suitable for individualized needs that have an easier display to read.
Users who use this particular Polar Watch find it great value for money especially those who do general and weight training. There is no need to fuss though because Polar have made some of the best heart rate monitors out there giving consumers a wide range of options. It is just a matter of picking the right one that fits.
